The BEST Crochet Braids I’ve Ever Had

Hey loves! Before March is over I wanted to share with you guys the protective hairstyle I had for the entire month. I decided that I wanted to try crochet braids again so I bought 6 packs of the Janet Collection Noir Marley Hair. This hair is BEAUTIFUL! No seriously, after curling this hair the first time it was so easy to brush through. It took some time but it was well worth it and I only curled them once a week. I did about 10-12 cornrows straight back like the braiding pattern I used the last time I had crochet braids (insert post here). I wore my hair down most of the time; I occasionally would put it up in a ponytail whenever I would have tennis practice or a match.

When curling this hair, I only use the orange flexi rods and the orange perm rods. These curls were so bouncy and it was perfect because the hair was already long. I was very satisfied with the results because if you know me, you know I love big hair. Here are a couple of pictures showing the difference when using the flexi rods and perm rods.

Prior to the crochet braids I did make sure my hair was clarified and well moisturized so I did not wash my hair while wearing this style. Once a week I oiled my scalp with The Mane Choice Hair Growth Oil but I ran out so I switched to my Haitian Black Castor Oil. I really focused on my edges when doing this because I noticed many people haven’t had good experiences with their edges with crochet. However, I did notice a satisfying amount of growth!

I really hoped to keep this style in longer than a month but I cannot tolerate weave being in my hair for so long. As far as my next protective style, I just might get a sew in May. Since summer is right around the corner I think I am going to wear my hair out more and let it flourish. What do you think I should try next? Let me know in the comments below!
